Getting Started

You will need to complete the following steps prior to starting your position:

Step 1: Complete and return necessary documents

  1. Review and return the offer letter (email) by the deadline. Instructions for accepting the position are included in the email with the offer letter.

  2. Review, sign, and return necessary HR materials. Once you have returned the offer letter, you will receive additional information via email on how to complete the HR process. You must complete all required forms within one week of the class start date or your position will be terminated.

NOTE: Those who have worked for ASU previously but whose last pay date was more than 12 months ago will need to resubmit an I-9.

Step 2: Activate your ASURITE ID and enroll in two-factor authentication

You’ll use your ASURITE ID to access all ASU services and two-factor authentication is required on a weekly basis to access most web-based services to which you log on using your ASURITE ID and password.

Activate your ASURITE ID:

    • Go to ASURITE Activation, and follow the guided steps.

    • If you have previously worked for or been a student at ASU, you should already have an ASURITE ID and password. If you cannot remember the ID or password, you can recover this information by contacting the Experience Center at 1-855-278-5080 and selecting the option for Technology Help.

Enroll in two-factor authentication:

    • You will automatically be redirected to the two-factor authentication enrollment page the first time you attempt to log in to any ASU webpage that requires your ASURITE ID and password. If you enrolled previously and wish to manage your devices configured for two-factor authentication, log on to My ASU, and complete the following steps:

        1. Click Profile.

        2. In the Account Details box on the right side of the page, expand the Password & Security menu and click the Two-Factor Auth Device Management hyperlink.

        3. Follow the prompts to manage or add devices.

Step 3: Set up your email account

All email correspondence from ASU will use your ASU email address. This is your primary email address while facilitating for ASU and it is your responsibility to ensure you can access and respond to email sent to this address.

  • If you would like to forward your ASU email to another address, please do the following:

      1. Log on to My ASU.

      2. Click Profile.

      3. In the Contact Details box, expand the Email menu and click the Manage your ASU email address hyperlink.

      4. On the email forwarding page, you can specify the email address where you would like ASU to forward your email. It is important to note that access to cloud-based items will be given to your ASU email address.

Step 4: Complete information security awareness training

Information security awareness training is required on an annual basis for all full-time and part-time ASU employees who use ASU IT systems. Your access to ASU systems may be suspended if you do not complete the training successfully. To access the online, self-paced "ASU Information Security Training," follow the instruction from the ASU Information Security Office.
