ARTIST STATEMENT - LANDON PURSER

There are not many pieces of art that are made from something that was a part of the artist for ten years. Inspired by pictures of archaeological digs, Modern Fossil is made out of concrete and titanium parts from my previous knee replacement. The piece uses a glazing technique that protects the concrete from being damaged and makes it shine.
