Important Announcements

During the 2019-2020 academic year, the GE Council made significant strides to strengthen and align the traditional undergraduate (TUG) and professional undergraduate (PR) GE programs. This resulted in revised structures within the Biblical, Theological & Philosphical Formation area, a waiver of the Personal Wellness category for all PR students and for TUG students with more than 60 units of transfer credit, and the creation of a 0-unit, optional First-Year Seminar Canvas course for PR students.

Additionally, thoughtful engagement and work was undertaken to strengthen and clarify the rubrics used in General Education. The Humanities: History rubric was the first to undergo this process. It is anticipated that additional rubrics in other areas of the GE program will be forthcoming in the upcoming academic year, including rubrics for Biblical, Theological & Philosophical Formation, and the Writing 1, 2 and 3 courses.
