I would like to look at the General Education Certification Forms prior to submitting my course in CourseLeaf. Where can I find those forms?

They are in each of the categories, above, or you can go to the GE Resources Page

Okay, I'm ready to submit my course. How do I use Courseleaf to do that?

What is involved in preparing and submitting the forms?

For each proposal, we will need a syllabus and a completed CourseLeaf course form. It is also a good idea to look at the rubric for your particular course category--that rubric will be the basis by which the GE Curriculum Committee vets course proposals.

Here are the specific steps involved in submitting your course:

  1. Prepare your syllabus (see above)
  2. Go to CourseLeaf
  3. Either select “Propose New Course” or search for your course and select “Edit Course”
  4. Fill in the questions on the CourseLeaf form.
    1. When you select “Yes” to answer the “Is this course for General Education?” question, a set of questions will pop down. Answer the questions as completely and accurately as possible.
  5. At the “Upload Syllabus” button, select your syllabus to upload.
  6. At the bottom of the page, click “Start Workflow”.

That it! These steps are illustrated in a GE Course (Re)certification Procedures video prepared by Jeff Tirrell.

Technical notes:

  • Be sure to hit the white “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the CourseLeaf screen often, especially if you navigate away from the window in which you are working.
