Celebrating ARTS IN EDUCATION WEEK with all art students by adding chalk drawings outside the main office entrance at the high school.
EMERGING ARTIST EXHIBITION 2016
The Emerging Artist Exhibition runs from September 10 - October 8 at the STRS Building in Columbus, Ohio. Lacey Braatz, Lauren Parlette, Delaney Cook, Jessica Baden, Jolie Lagger, Catherine Robertson, Kelsey Lewandowski and Allison Happ have work on display.
BLACK SWAMP ART FESTIVAL 2016 - 2nd Place
In September two student groups
participated in the Black Swamp Art Festival Chalk Walk. This competition required students to submit a sketch and artist statement for participation. This year's theme was WATER. This year one of our teams (Ariel Tonkel, Kate Santus, Kelsey Lewandowksi) won second place in the competition and was awarded $250 for the AWHS Art Dept. Other participants in the competition were Amber Palmer, Paige Smith, Eileen Lama, Madi Soltis and Caylin. These students spent several hours working on their amazing chalk drawing.YARK WINDOW PAINTING COMPETITIONThe AWHS Art Dept. was asked to join in a friendly window painting competition with Perrysburg Schools at Yark outside Whitehouse, Ohio. Fourteen art students worked over six hours on their windows. We are happy to announce that AW was the winner of the $1500. Thank you to all that voted.
Photographer's Forum 36th ANNUAL COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
Sam Roesler's photograph was a finalist. Her image will be published in the Best of College and High School Photography 2016 book.

2016 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION for OHIO's FIFTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
You may view art by Arika Zeigler, Sam Roesler, Cassidy Burmeister and Emily May at the Mezzanine Level of the Fisher/Wall Gallery from 12:00pm - 6:00pm Tuesday thru Friday and 10:00am - 2:00pm on Saturdays. A reception to announce winners will Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, the Fisher/Wall Gallery, 200 W. Main St. Findlay, Ohio.

TEEN ART EXHIBIT AT TOLEDO LUCAS COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Student work will be displayed in the Wintergarden Area at the library's main branch downtown. 15 works of art represent Anthony Wayne High School in this showcase of area talent. You can view this exhibit from March 14th through April 16th. A reception will end the exhibit on April 16th, 3:30-4:30i in the McMaster Center in the library.
WALT CHURCHILL'S MARKET
Currently we have art work displayed at Walt Churchill's Market in Maumee. Stop by and visit our "Many Faces of AW" display. Junior high and high school self portraits from a variety of media are featured.
MAUMEE VALLEY COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL 2015
At Maumee Valley Country Day School in the Wolfe Gallery is a SELFIE exhibit featuring art from kindergarten thru high school. Artwork from Whitehouse Primary and AWHS students along with other area schools is on display until February 26 and a reception for all exhibitors on January 31 . Libby Robbins, Allyson Graf, Emily Tuskan and Zoe Lyons all have their SELFIE crayon batiks on display. From drawing class Amber Bundy, Hayley McArthur and Kate Santus have included their own selfies.
GOODWILL MURAL - 2015
A mural created by six of our senior artists (Osi Okoro, Sam Roesler, Arika Zeigler, Hayley McArthur, Mitchell Betts and Rachel Brown) is on display at the Goodwill Store in Whitehouse, Ohio. The center panel is a permanent display while the outer six panels will be changed throughout the year displaying a new theme and new art from a variety of student levels. Currently the outer six panels were individually designed and painted by the six senior artists. The center was a collaboration of all.

Chalkwalk participants were Team 1: Jacob Bussom, Kaela Weslowski, Hayley McArthur, Osi Okoro and Team 2: Paige Smith, Caroline Walker, Eileen Lama, Bella Mendoza, Lizzie Kuns. These students spent several hours working on their amazing chalk drawing.
CHERRY PICKED AUTO PARTS
Charlie Spohn, the first freshman to become a finalist in the Toledo based hood design competition. This contest is hosted by Cherry Picked Auto Parts. This is also the contest with the highest possible payout for an art contest in the Toledo area. For more details, read below...
