About The Rev. Chris Barber

 The Rev. Chris Barber is an ordained priest in the General Church of the New Jerusalem and is a religion instructor at the Academy of The New Church Secondary Schools. He began teaching at the Academy of the New Church Boys School in the 2012-2013 school year, and began working full-time for both the Boys and Girls school the following year.

He is especially proud to serve on the board of the Swedenborg Foundation, which has promoted Swedenborg’s works for nearly one and a quarter centuries. In his free time he collects books, does research in genealogy, writes  on matters of local and church history as well as social issues and doctrine,  and devours as many films as he can possibly manage. 

He is pleased to be working in a place where daily he helps young minds to glimpse the world through the healing perspective of the New Church and to be inspired by what they see. Rev. Barber is always working to find new ways to bring heaven closer to earth in the classroom.
