Alameda County Search and Rescue
Alameda County Search and Rescue...
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit is an organization, comprised of dedicated male and female volunteers, whose task is to provide a professional level of search management, leadership, and cooperation to efficiently and effectively locate, stabilize and transport lost or injured persons within the County of Alameda. Additionally, this unit is available to assist other Counties within California through the Law Enforcement Mutual Aid System.
The unit has a long-standing reputation as a leader in the field, with a history that stems from the era of Civil Defense when the threat of nuclear attack during the 1950's to the mid-1960's was very real. The team has evolved into a unit of well-equipped and well-trained unpaid professionals who are dedicated to providing their expertise at no cost to the taxpayers of Alameda County and the State of California.
