Non-Profit

We are primarily supported by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, but we are also non-profit organization so donations are welcome and appreciated.

ALCO SAR, Inc. is a 501(C3) organization created to support the members of Alameda County Search and Rescue with funding for training programs for the team and its members which helps provide equipment that is not readily available through the Sheriffs Office.

ALCO SAR, Inc. has provided funding for several specialized trainings for the team as well as other Search and Rescue units these past years. We have created a sponsorship/training reimbursement program for team members to help pay for expenses associated with their training.

The non-profit plays a very active role to provide funding to support for training activities. Some of the areas where the association supports the team is to provide food for attendees during training, purchasing consumable supplies and costs associated with instructional/training materials.

The association also works with vendors to make bulk purchases to make available items for team members to help with their equipment purchases and uniform needs to help members reduce their personal expenses for being a SAR team member.

Over the past several years, ALCO SAR, Inc. has obtained grants and donations for special projects and programs. These projects have helped to improve team readiness by accepting donations of equipment and supplies and member preparedness for field response.
