Tier 3 Student Support Practices

What are Tier 3 supports?

Tier 3 services and supports are designed to address the needs of students who are experiencing significant problems and/or are unresponsive to Tier 1 and Tier 2 efforts. Schools should establish guidelines for determining how students will enter into Tier 1, 2, or 3 levels of support. At Tier 3, these students receive more intensive, individualized support to improve their behavioral and academic outcomes.
