Drama Program

The Drama Program at ACIT strives to prepare students in the Performing Arts Academy with the tools and skills needed to pursue further education or careers in the field of theatre. The Drama Program will expose students to the performance, production, and literary aspects of theatre.

Students in the program will study a variety of techniques, and perform in a wide array of theatrical styles. The performance curriculum will include the various dynamic aspects of the actor in preparation and performance. The production curriculum will include the practical aspects of planning, designing, constructing, and directing a production. The literary curriculum will include a study of the history of theatre and a reading analysis of the different genre of dramatic literature within that historical context. An ongoing objective of the course will be an awareness and appreciation of good theatre and the desire to continue as an intelligent participant in, or observer of, the oldest form of human creative endeavor.
