Rylee Gaskill is thrilled to be the Drama Instructor for ACIT’s Performing Arts Academy. Before joining ACIT, Rylee taught Elementary Music and directed Choir and Musicals in the Absecon School District. She also serves as a private acting and audition prep coach at Bonilla Vocal Academy in Mays Landing, NJ, where she helps students develop acting technique, land roles in musical productions, and gain admission to top college Musical Theatre programs.
In addition to her work in education, Rylee has been active in the South Jersey theatre community, both onstage and behind the scenes. She directed The Little Mermaid Jr. at Absecon Public School and contributed to several productions at the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point, NJ, including Chicago the Musical (Assistant Choreographer, Fosse Style Coach), A Chorus Line (Assistant Choreographer), and Matilda the Musical Jr. (Assistant Director). As a performer, she has appeared as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Gateway and as Sue Snell in Carrie the Musical with Cumberland Players in Vineland, NJ.
Rylee earned her degree in Musical Theatre from Wilkes University, where she received the University Musical Theatre Award in 2023. During her time there, she performed in a range of musicals and plays, including Little Women (Jo March), Chicago (Liz/Featured Dancer), Julius Caesar (Casca), Silent Sky (Annie Jump Cannon), Sweet Charity(Featured Dancer), and Androcles and the Lion (Centurion). Some of her production credits include: The Lord of the Flies (Assistant Director/ASM), The Spitfire Grill (Stage Manager), Nine (ASM/A2), Lizzie (Assistant Master Electrician), Violet (Spotlight Operator), Good People (Sound Board Operator), and Clue on Stage (Prop Master).
While participating in all 16 mainstage productions over 4 years at Wilkes, Rylee received comprehensive training in Acting, Voice, Diction, Dance, Stagecraft, Lighting Design, Directing, and Theatre Laboratory, covering sets, props, lighting, sound, costumes, and more. She also served as Alto Section Leader and Student Director for the University Choir and Chamber Singers.
Though she has a deep love for performing, Rylee has always dreamed of being a teacher. At ACIT, she is excited to share her passion for theatre and inspire the next generation of performers.
