Mrs. Volpe's Biography

Mrs. Volpe was born in Galloway, New Jersey. She had a curiosity for theatre since first grade when she appeared as a lost boy in Peter Pan. She found her home on stage being a part of Absegami High School's award winning Drama Department, State Champion Drama and Forensic Team, and Honor Thespian under the direction of her mentor and friend to this day, Chip Garrison. She also joined Media and hosted the morning announcements (Gami-TV).

Knowing that she could not live her life without the performing arts, Mrs. Volpe was accepted into Montclair State University's BFA program for Theatre (Acting Concentration) where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the Dennis McDonald award for most promising actor. She spent four years immersed in acting, body, voice, and technical theatre courses. She was involved in numerous performances in both acting and production roles, including a showcase at New York's Producer's Club. She also studied wig ventilation, hair styling, and stage makeup application. She also studied Acting for Television learning both on screen and behind the camera skills with industry professional Michael Laibson. She also spent time abroad in England studying at the Globe, Royal National Theatres, and Stratford- Upon-Avon at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

After meeting the love of her life, Elizabeth moved back down to South Jersey to be married, enroll in Richard Stockton College's Teacher Education program and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her ultimate goal has been to build a successful Performing Arts Program. It has been a dream to give to students the same inspiring experiences she had in high school and to share her love of Theatre, Film, and Literature with a new generation.

Mrs. Volpe worked at Middle Township High School for eight years (2006-2014) as a high school English, Theatre, and TV Broadcasting Teacher. She ran both the TV I and Adv. TV courses as well as the Panther News Network (PNN) morning announcement program. She taught the Theatre elective and was also the Drama Club advisor and directed the Fall Drama Productions. In her time there, her students received numerous awards in both theatre and media. In 2014 Mrs. Volpe was nominated by her students and awarded the Faculty Pioneer award by Atlantic Cape for her contributions to the communication field through her teaching and professional work 

Mrs. Volpe began working at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology teaching Media and advising the Red Hawk Media Club in 2014. The following year she became a part of the Performing Arts Academy where she currently instructs the Drama Academy students and directs the annual Musical. Her Drama students have been nominated to States for Teen Arts, they have won awards through NJDFL and STANJ, and her musical productions and student have received nominations through Papermill's Rising Star Awards.
