Tests

Middle and High School Math Classes

There will be a time test at the end of every unit. These tests are closed book, notes, and homework. If reference material is allowed to be used on the test, it will be provided. There may be calculator and non-calculator portions on each test.

Test Retakes - Middle and High School Grade Only (No Retakes allowed for College Grade)

Tests may be retaken for a higher grade, up to full credit, after the student corrects the previous test questions, completes a test reflection, and additional work as assigned by the teacher. The cutoff date for test retakes is the Wednesday before the end of each grading period and must be scheduled with Mr. Taylor at least two school days in advance. Test retakes will not normally be scheduled during regular class periods and the student must schedule the retake before school, during lunch, or during tutoring (preferred). Like original tests, test retakes are timed.

Test Scoring - High School Classes

Each question will be graded on a 1 to 5 scale with the resulting score averaged for reporting in TylerSIS.

Test Scoring - College Classes

Each question will be worth a certain number of points with the percentage of total points reported in TylerSIS and OITs Gradebook. Once any online portion of a test closes in WeBWorK I will review each question and assign partial credit as appropriate.

College Classes

Portions of the tests for college courses may be provided in an online format. As the tests will have a test cut-off date, ensure that you have the recommended time available prior to starting any online test. You will have a window of at least 72 hours to complete online portions of any test.

Semester Finals

The exam is cumulative over the material covered in the semester and will be given during the scheduled semester final period. Please note that as mathematical concepts build upon each other, you will still need to know material from the first semester to solve problems during the second semester and its final. These tests are closed book, notes, and homework. If reference material is allowed to be used on the test, it will be provided. There may be calculator and non-calculator portions on each test.
