How will my child receive support through the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence?

As part of the daily instruction, each grade level will have a built in time for interventions as established by the teacher through their monitoring of the the student's progress in academic courses.  

What do I do if my child is struggling or needs extra help?

In addition to the Intervention block built into the schedule, students are encouraged to seek one-on-one help with their course instructors based upon their schedule of availability.  

Is gifted/enrichment programming available within the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence?

Yes!  Students will follow screening procedures within their home district to be identified as a student with a GIEP and district case managers will work with the staff of the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence to provide enrichment opportunities for students who qualify.

Are students with an IEP allowed to participate in the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence?

Students with itinerant services in their Individualized Education Plan will be assigned a case manager by their home district who will work with the staff of the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence to ensure student success.

How are student services evaluations handled if my child is in the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence?

Students within the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence will be identified by their home district in conjunction with the staff of the Alle-Kiski Academy of Excellence for screening evaluations and if the student qualifies their IEP/GIEP will be enacted as part of this program.
