Additional Required Core Courses

In addition to the core courses included in the Standard Core Order visual, students should attend the Rice Core Residential (MGMT 513 & MGMT 514) during their 1st or 2nd Quad and will participate in the Global Field Experience (MGMT 515) during their 4th Quad or 5th Quad.

Student Advising Templates

Curriculum requirements and offerings are laid out for students, based off of the cohort in which they joined MBA@Rice. These cohort-specific academic plans are referred to as advising templates. They are live Google Sheets that provide the appropriate quadmester-specific academic schedule to follow, the most current list of elective course offerings, elective course schedule, a folder of course syllabi, and a DIY program progress and academic plan tracker.

*Students are encouraged to bookmark their cohort-specific advising template for personal use and reference, and for registration check-in calls with their Student Success Advisor.

Intensive Learning Experiences (ILEs)

In addition to attending weekly, live online classes, students are required to attend two Intensive Learning Experiences throughout their time in the program: Rice Core Residential (MGMT 513 & MGMT 514) and Global Field Experience (MGMT 515). These mandatory Intensive Learning Experiences provide an opportunity for students to meet and interact with their peers and Rice faculty in a more intimate setting.

In addition to these two Intensive Learning Experience requirements, there is an additional (optional) opportunity in the second year to enroll in a Rice Residential Elective series, made up of two 0.75 credit hour electives. The schedule for this optional elective Intensive Learning Experience is offered at the same times as the Rice Core Residential.
