Complete Academic Requirements 

Check DegreeWorks to confirm you have met all academic requirements for graduation. Step-by-step student instructions on how to use Degree Works are available here. 

Apply for Graduation

The Application for Degree questionnaire is the required form that is used in creating your diploma for graduation. Please take time to carefully complete the questionnaire so that there are no mistakes on your diploma!

Instructions for Graduate Students

1. Login to ESTHER.

2. From the Students tab, click Students - General.

3. Click on Graduation.

4. Click on Application for Degree - Graduate Students.

5. Answer all of the questions on the questionnaire.

• • Semester for degree completion

  • Diploma Name

  • Select the degree(s) for which you would like to apply by highlighting the check box to the left of the degree(s)

6. Click Save Responses.

7. Carefully review your answers to confirm that everything is correct then click the Complete Questionnaire button. Your Application for Degree is not officially submitted until you click the Complete Questionnaire button.

Rice Email

Please continue to check your Rice student email regularly in the weeks leading up to the graduation ceremony. Important details and instructions as you prepare to participate in the graduation ceremony will be sent to your Rice email account.  

You will lose access to your Rice student email account 12 months after graduation. The Alumni Resources section includes a link with instructions to guide you in setting up your alumni email account. 

Class Rings

Graduating students who wish to order a Rice University class ring may do so at any time through the Balfour website. Rings will be shipped directly to the address provided at the time of purchase.

Alumni Resources

• One-year complimentary membership to Rice Business Partners

  •  Register here to activate your membership. 

• A one-time complimentary membership initiation fee for The Petroleum Club of Houston

  • Waived initiation fee value: $5,000

  • Monthly dues range from $191-322, depending on age

  • Alumni have six months after graduation to take advantage of this benefit

  • To submit an application, alumni should email member@pcoh.com for details. 

• Complimentary admission to various Rice Business alumni events for a limited post-graduation period

• Your journey here doesn’t end at graduation; this community is your launchpad and your home. 

  • Stay connected to your alumni family by registering for your @alumni.rice.edu email account. 

Please note that access to your Rice student email ends about 12 months after graduation. However, you are eligible to request a Rice Alumni email account to continue staying connected after your student email access expires. Information about your Rice Alumni email account can be found using the exclusive alumni benefits link above.

Networking

Connect with peers, professors, and industry professionals on professional networking platforms, and be sure to collect and save their contact information for future reference.

Please note that upon graduation, you will lose access to CampusGroups. For information about upcoming alumni networking opportunities, visit the  Business Alumni Events page. 

Career Services

Update Your Employment Status

Log in to 12twenty and update your employment status under Profile > Add Experience. Your update supports our employment report, strengthens Rice MBA rankings, and helps fellow Owls navigate career trends. 

Schedule an Appointment with a Career Advisor

The CDO recognizes that career journeys don’t end at graduation but often include promotions and transitions. After completing the MBA program, alumni may meet with an experienced career advisor for job-search strategies and other career support.  Appointments can be scheduled via Owl Careers: https://mba-rice.12twenty.com/Login 

Applying for Jobs in 12twenty After Graduation

Post-graduation, you retain access to 12twenty and can continue applying for jobs using your Rice email. Four months post-graduation, you are reclassified as an alumnus/alumna in 12twenty and can continue applying for jobs and registering for events open to MBA alumni.  You may continue to log in with SSO while your Rice email is active; after your email access ends, please email cdo@rice.edu to update your email address.

Digital Campus

Download all Digital Campus notes, assignments, projects, and any other resources you’d like to keep for future personal use. You will lose access to these materials once your Rice email account expires, which occurs 12 months after degree conferral.  Please note that Study.Net materials cannot be accessed after course completion.
