In addition to having a robust curriculum, we pride ourselves on providing the best resources for students to maintain a sense of belonging and support throughout the program. MBA@Rice provides a variety of resources to students to access at their convenience.
Please click on the topics below to explore resources available to you.
Student Success Advising
Your Student Success Advisor will reach out to you at least once per quadmester to provide academic and student success coaching. Your relationship with your advisor will be ongoing from program start to finish - they will play an integral role in your success so be sure to meet with them early and often! Please reference your academic advising plan when meeting with your Student Success Advisor - details below.
Academic Advising + Degree planning
The MBA@Rice curriculum is designed as a lock-step program. Students know exactly which courses they need to take and when, based on their desired completion date. We have designed for each starting cohort to follow with the 2 year plan.
Due to the demand for additional external support with some of your required core courses, we have partnered with Wyzant Tutoring in offering tutoring for the following core courses of your program:
MGMT 501 - Financial Accounting
MGMT 593 - Data Analysis
MGMT 540 - Managerial Economics
MGMT 543 - Finance
We understand how challenging it is to juggle work, graduate school, and a personal life. Rice Business is committed to providing you with the necessary toolkit to attain success. We believe in your ability to achieve with MBA@Rice; and thus, we encourage you to take advantage of this supplemental tutoring resource at no additional cost to you.
Guidelines
20 total hours of tutoring per student to be used in supported core quantitative courses listed above
Tutoring time is allotted in five minute increments, monitored by both Wyzant and Rice.
Tutors are vetted by Wyzant, in terms of skill set and quality.
Tutoring is not available for elective courses
Cancelling a scheduled session requires notification of the tutor and will count as 30 minutes of tutoring allotment.
Tutoring is to provide guidance and reinforce curricular concepts, and not to help with any graded assignments
Faculty reserve the right to place additional conditions on a tutoring session
To schedule tutoring, enter the portal through the Rice-Wyzant Link: highered.wyzant.com/signup/rice-student
If you already have an account, you will be prompted to login.

“On my honor, I have neither given nor received any unauthorized aid on this (exam, quiz, and paper).”
Additionally, Wyzant addresses academic integrity in the Wyzant Tutor Agreement:
“Academic Dishonesty. Independent Tutor agrees not to use the Site to engage in academic dishonesty (e.g., completing assignments, writing papers, taking tests on someone’s behalf, or work completion in violation of conduct policies of a school, university, academic institution or workplace) or other misconduct involving a Tutor’s Students.”

Ambassador Program
Our Student Ambassador program is designed to connect current students with future students. Ambassadors play a vital role in the student experience. They would serve for about 1-2 hours per month for an academic year. Ambassadors may be asked to participate in one or more of the following ways:
Student Profile: We seek enthusiastic, engaged students who are passionate about our program and eager to share their experiences. A strong understanding of our curriculum, culture, and student life is ideal.
Blog Post or Interview: You will have the opportunity to write a blog post or participate in an interview with our program marketing team. This is a great chance to showcase your personal experiences and highlight the benefits of our program on our website.
1:1 Meetings with Prospective Students: Engage with prospective students in one-on-one meetings to provide personalized insights and answer their questions about our program.
Student Panels & Webinars: Participate in and help organize student panels and webinars, where you’ll discuss various aspects of our program and field questions from attendees.
If interested in sharing your program experience with future students, reach out to Student Success for more information about the application and training process.
CampusGroups
You will get access to CampusGroups after the add/drop period of your first term (2 weeks after program start). CampusGroups allows you to sign up for on-campus events!
