Welcome to my portfolio! Here is a music production I made to keep you entertained.
In this unit on Algorithms, I learned how to break down complex problems into clear, logical, step-by-step instructions. I explored how algorithms are used in everyday situations as well as in computing, which helped me understand their real-world importance beyond just coding.
While working through this unit, I used several important skills. I applied logical thinking to decide the correct order of steps, problem-solving skills to refine and improve algorithms, and precision to ensure each instruction was clear and unambiguous. I also used analytical skills to identify errors and optimise my algorithms, making them more efficient and accurate.
Overall, this unit strengthened my ability to think systematically and communicate solutions clearly, which are essential skills in computational thinking and real-life decision-making.
In Unit 2, I worked extensively with Excel and created two comprehensive mega sheets to organise and analyse data effectively. Through this unit, I learned how to use key spreadsheet functions such as SUMIF, AVERAGE, percentage calculations, TOTAL, MINIMUM, and MAXIMUM to process data accurately.
While completing these tasks, I developed strong data-handling and analytical skills, along with logical reasoning to choose appropriate formulas for different situations. I also improved my attention to detail, ensuring correct cell references and accurate calculations. Creating the mega sheets helped me understand how spreadsheets can be used to manage large sets of data efficiently and present information clearly.
This unit enhanced my confidence in using Excel as a practical tool for problem-solving and data analysis.
In addition to practical work, I created my own notes for the unit, which helped reinforce my understanding of concepts and formulas. I also designed two worksheets, applying the skills I learned to create practice questions and structured tasks. This process strengthened my conceptual clarity, independent learning, and ability to apply knowledge creatively.
I have always loved Computational Thinking. It is one subject that makes me feel curious instead of pressured, and a lot of that credit goes to Arun Sir. Sir teaches COTH in a way that makes even complex ideas feel approachable and interesting. What I appreciate most is how personal and comfortable Sir is with the class. Whether he’s explaining a concept patiently, occasionally slipping into Hindi, or calling Renukaa ji with full seriousness (which never fails to make the class smile), he creates an environment where students feel seen and relaxed. Having been our class teacher in a previous grade as well, Sir understands us beyond academics, and that reflects in the way he teaches and guides us.
