Media Volunteers
Media volunteers are responsible for assisting with media relations at the venue level during the Games. While they are not able to do media interviews or speak on behalf of the Games, they are present at all times during competitions to facilitate participant (athlete, coach, manager) interviews in collaboration with Sport Information Officers.
In each venue media centre, media volunteers are available to assist media. Please visit the venue media centre for assistance on-site.
Main Media Centre
The Main Media Centre can be found inside the Core Sciences Facility on 45 Arctic Avenue in St. John's, which is on Memorial University’s campus. Found on the first floor, the Main Media Centre work room (CSF 1302) is equipped with a printer/copier, work tables and chairs available for use by accredited media, media volunteers, volunteer photographers and the Games’ social media squad. The work area also offers access to power for charging devices and wireless internet. Workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Main Media Centre is staffed with volunteers to assist you with any inquiries and printing support. Please note that volunteers are not official spokespeople for the 2025 Canada Games and can only connect you with an appropriate spokesperson. The Main Media Centre is available to all accredited media. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Dates and Hours of Operation:
August 6-8: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
August 9: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
August 10-23: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
August 24: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Venue Media Centres
Most competition venues feature a Venue Media Centre equipped with tables and chairs. Almost all Venue Media Centres include access to power for charging devices for use by accredited media, media volunteers, volunteer photographers, and the Games’ social media squad. The Aqurena, Fortis Canada Games Complex, and Memorial Field House don't have a venue media centre due to its proximity to the Main Media Centre.
These areas are staffed with volunteers to assist you with any inquiries. Please note that volunteers are not official spokespeople for the 2025 Canada Games and may connect you with an appropriate spokesperson.
In almost all cases, Venue Media Centres are open 60 minutes prior to competition until 30 minutes after competition. Venue Media Centres are not open on training or practice days. If interested in attending a practice of a P/T team, accredited media will need to make arrangements and receive permission from that specific P/T communications lead.
