Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony will mark the beginning of the 2025 Canada Games. Athletes, coaches, support staff, and viewers from coast-to-coast-to-coast will be taken on a journey Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Mary Browns Centre in St. John’s.
As is customary, the Opening Ceremony will commence with a “Parade of Teams”, where Games participants will march into the stadium, one provincial or territorial (P/T) team at a time. Each delegation will be led by its chosen flag bearer. In addition to hearing from a number of speakers, the Opening Ceremony will also feature an artistic program that will showcase St. John’s culture and history in an entertaining and creative way.
Closing Ceremony, Presented by Keyin College
Our country’s largest multi-sport event will conclude with the Closing Ceremony at the Mary Browns Centre in St. John’s on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Games participants and spectators alike will be treated to a party-like atmosphere while celebrating the achievements of 2025’s athletes!
Along with another “Parade of Teams” and a set of speakers, the Closing Ceremony will feature the extinguishment of the Canada Games cauldron, bringing an end to the 2025 Canada Games. Representatives of the Quebec 2027 Canada Winter Games will also be on hand to accept the traditional handover of the Official Canada Games Flag.
