QC Strains

Culturing of the quality control strains on HiCrome MRSA agar produced the expected results. All six MRSS positive-control strains grew on the medium, whereas the two negative-control strains, methicillin-susceptible S. aureus ATCC 29213 and E. coli ATCC 25922, showed no growth. These findings confirmed the selective performance of the medium and demonstrated that the agar was functioning as intended for the detection of methicillin-resistant staphylococci.
