Our Journey

This project has been a journey of learning for our school communities. We want to set our children on a life long journey. To prepare for an increasingly interconnected and dynamic world, children today need to be packed with many skills. A solid understanding of concepts and facts, and knowing how to read and write and do mathematics are still so important. But at the same time, it is vital to take a holistic approach to children's learning and development, recognising a broader set of skills that will underpin their learning for life. High quality, playful and hands-on experiences help children develop these skills, which are essential to shape the path that they take in the future.

This project is exposing our children to a new world of possibilities. It is developing concentration, problem solving skills, flexible thinking by learning to tackle complex tasks and building effective strategies for identifying solutions. Learning to understand, manage and express emotions by building self-awareness and handling impulses, and staying motivated and confident in the face of difficulties. Coming up with new ideas, imagining things, using representations, transforming existing ideas into new ideas, making associations and using symbols. Collaborating, communicating and understanding others perspectives by sharing ideas, negotiating rules, and building empathy.

It is important the children experience progression and that STEAM education is developed throughout their school years.
