Tutoring at CLC

Students access tutoring through Canvas – and all tutoring is online, primarily through Zoom. There is also asynchronous writing support available through email and/or Google Docs. All currently registered students will see a Tutoring Center card in their Canvas dashboard that looks like this:

When students open the card, they’ll see the list of subjects, hours that tutors are available, and links to begin tutoring. Please note that the Writing Center link opens into a separate Canvas course with instructions. As you scroll down the Canvas page, students will find links to helpful math and writing resources such as a calculator app and select OER materials.

We encourage you to add the card to your Canvas dashboard so are familiar with the view and experience for students. Simply click here to enroll and add the tutoring card (it only takes a few seconds).

The physical Tutoring Centers at all three campuses are open for students who need to access a computer, camera and microphone. Hours and locations are listed at www.clcillinois.edu/tutoring. Important note: we do not have tutors available in the centers. However, a staff member is available as a guide to help students connect with an online tutor.
