Are you attending another college or university and wish to earn transfer credits at CLC during the Summer Session?


View below for the steps you will need to take.

Check with your college or university if they require paperwork to attend a summer class at CLC.

Connect with your college or university advisor about what classes would benefit for you to take with us during the summer session.

Prerequisites

Most college level classes at CLC require one or more prerequisites before registration can occur. Click on the situation that is appropriate for you . Additionally, check out the classes we are deferring requirements for summer only students.

If you are looking to take a class that requires Basic Algebra Readiness or College Reading & Writing Readiness...

These proficiencies can be met through a variety of student records or test scores. Click on the proficiency you're looking to meet for more information on acceptable documentation.

College Reading & Writing Readiness

Basic Algebra Readiness

If you are looking to take a class with a specific course prerequisite (or college level prerequisite)...

Complete and return the Prerequisite Verification from Prior College Coursework. You can send this to Records@clcillinois.edu along with a copy of your unofficial transcript or unofficial AP scores from College Board. Please make sure your name, your school’s name, and your classes/grades are clearly visible.

High School Transcripts

Your unofficial transcript can be used and can be sent directly to me or your Registration Services Representative, Fany Catalan fcatalan1@clcillinois.edu.

WTHS students please email the Warren Registration to obtain your unofficial high school transcript.

ACT Scores

Access your ACT scores by logging into the ACT website. If you are unable to retrieve your login information using the "forgot username/password" links, try contacting ACT Customer Care at (319) 337-1270.


You can send a PDF or screenshot with your scores to me or your Registration Services Representative, Fany Catalan fcatalan1@clcillinois.edu as long as your name, test date, and scores are clearly visible.

SAT Scores

Access your SAT scores by logging into the College Board website. If you are unable to retrieve your login information using the "forgot username/password" links, try contacting Account Help at (866) 315-6068.

You can send a PDF or screenshot with your scores to me or Fany Catalan fcatalan1@clcillinois.edu as long as your name, test date, and scores are clearly visible.

AP Credit

Access your AP scores by logging into the College Board website. If you are unable to retrieve your login information using the "forgot username/password" links, try contacting Account Help at (866) 315-6068.

To use AP credits to meet a prerequisite...

Complete and return the Prerequisite Verification from Prior College Coursework. You can send this to Records@clcillinois.edu along with a copy of your unofficial AP score transcript. Please make sure your name, your test date, and your scores.

Placement Testing

English Placement Test

Once you have your student ID number, you can complete the English Placement Test. If you’re trying for College Reading & Writing Readiness, make sure to select the 3rd option when it asks you to choose an English class so you can continue with the written portion of the exam. It will take the English department up to 3 business days to grade your assessment, and they will email you when they have done so.

Math Placement Test

The ALEKS (math) test and study modules are available when you login to your student portal on the left side under your Launchpad. You can take the math test unproctored up to 3 times and we will use the highest score to meet your math requirement.
