Clearances for adult volunteers

Parents who want to come on a day or weekend camping trip but don't necessarily want to be an adult leader

BSA Youth Protection Training (YPT): To ensure that everyone is compliant with the Scouts BSA safety protocols, we ask that any parent who wants to participate in a day or weekend trip take YPT, a set of 4 online modules that will familiarize them with two-deep leadership and other key Scouting safety practices.

To access YPT, go to my.scouting.org, create an account/log in, and click on the "Youth Protection Begins with You" button on the top right side of the page. (See image at left.)

This will take an hour or two to complete. When you are finished, save the YPT certificate and get it to Roger Grey either by email at wcgrey@verizon.net, or at the next meeting.

Clearances: If you have your clearances, we ask that you also get a copy to Roger. The ideal is for all those going on trips to eventually get their clearances (see below).

Thank you!

Adults Who Would Like to Register as an Adult Leader

If you are interested in becoming an adult leader, the bar is higher. You will need to satisfy the requirements of both Scouts BSA and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

For a summary of the BSA Requirements, please see this website: https://www.cccbsa.org/resources/pa-background-checks/

For a summary of the Archdiocesan requirements, please see the flyer below.

These steps can be a bit onerous, but they ensure everyone's safety. Thank you for attending to this!
