September 2021

Welcome to our first Parent Council Newsletter of 2021-22!

We hope all your children have had a great start to the new 2021-22 school term! It is hard to believe we have already been back at school for 4 weeks.

The Parent Council had their first meeting on the 6th of September and welcomed our new Head Teacher Mrs McCool to our group.

During 2021-22 Mrs McCool and the school have asked us to raise funds for:

        • more playground equipment

        • new library furniture

Due to the continuing covid-19 restrictions, the Parent Council are not sure if we will be able to hold our usual fundraising discos and similar events this session, so please contact us if you have ANY ideas which we could use to raise money to support the school!!

Our next PC meetings are online on Zoom on:

Monday 04 October at 7pm

Monday 01 November at 7pm

All Parents are very welcome to attend.

Please email us or use our Contact us form and we will send you out the Zoom meeting link just before the meeting.

Please remember that the Parent Council are here to represent you and to bring your views and issues to the school.

If you have anything that you need help with then you can contact us using our online form or email below.

Remember if you or your child have any of the symptoms of Covid-19, we must follow the current restrictions found on the Scottish Goverment website.

Symptoms are:

  • high temperature

  • new, continuous cough

  • a loss of sense of smell or taste

We are hoping to engage more of our parents who do not have English as their first language in the life of the school and the Parent Council. To do this we will be asking for parents to help to translate short documents into as many languages as possible.

If you are able to help then please contact us on bankheadparentcouncilgcc@gmail.com.
