New Group called Puzzling

Brig is starting a new group for members interested in all types of puzzles and games. If you are interested in joining please contact by email to groups.wsm.u3a@gmail.com 

The of the Spring 2024 Weston u3a Newsletter has been published and a sanitized version can be found through this link. Members with email will receive a link to the full version and hard copies can be purchased at the Tuesday Coffee Morning priced £1.00.  

Membership Renewal 1st April 2024

The annual membership renewal will commence on the 1st April. The amount has been kept at £12 for another  year, no matter how many groups you attend. If you have joined recently and have a red-edged membership card, this is valid until March 2025, and you are not affected. If you attend an interest group please ask your group leader to organise a block renewal for all the group members.

Coffee Morning

The Coffee Morning will continue every Tuesday morning at 10am until 11.15am. Volunteers to help set up the tables and chairs would be appreciated.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

The Polices & Procedures, updated July 2023,  have been revised and amalgamated into one document, and includes Guide Lines for Group Leaders and for Trip Organisers. Weston U3A Policies & Procedures . It also includes an explanation as how Group attendance fees and expenses are managed. THE CHARGE FOR GROUPS MEETING IN HIRED HALLS INCREASED IN 2023 TO £2.00 per member, plus any additional charge for refreshment.

The majority of of your fellow members receive immediate notification of purely U3A events and other items of only U3A interest by email.

If you wish to be added to this list give your email address to weston.u3a@gmail.com , or when you renew your U3A membership. Please do not mark any email from Weston u3a as spam, but rather ask us to remove your email from our records.

GROUP NEWS

IF A GROUP IS FULL

If a Group is listed as 'Full' please contact the Group Leader who may actually have a vacancy or may be maintaining a waiting list.

If you cannot get into the Group of your choice please contact the Groups Co-ordinator at groups.wsm.u3a@gmail.com , who will if there are enough members interested try  to create a new and parallel group. Or you could start your own group.

GROUP LISTINGS

The Weekly Groups Programme and Alphabetical Group Listings have been updated.

There are a over 70 Groups, some Group Leaders have still to provide descriptions of their group activities. Some Groups may be full but you can always start another one for the topic that interests you. Ask the groups co-ordinator at groups.wsm.u3a@gmail.com

GROUPS MEETING FORTNIGHTLY on 'O' or 'E' WEEKS of the YEAR

Some groups meet fortnightly. The NewsLetter calendar denotes either a group meeting on  an

EVEN or ODD numbered week of the year. Week numbers can be found in most diaries.

The Groups Alphabetical List Page  shows if a Group meets on an EVEN or ODD numbered week
