About TIEC Group Listserv

Post date: Aug 19, 2010 5:05:27 AM

What does the group listserv have to offer members? A growing database and files section of communicative games and activities and little gems of advice on everything from working with handouts to handling kindergarten ankle-biters. Almost all of the files are available as HTML or TXT files making them easily accessible even from your slow backwoods school's 64k ISDN connection. Apart from the useful ideas and materials for use in class, there is also information and links to help you get the most out of living in Tokachi. As of September the listserv will be 6 years old, and as time goes by its usefulness grows as each member adds their own little gems to the group.

You can visit the group on the web at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tiec2004/. However, only those subscribed to the listserv can read and post messages, access the group files, group databases, group photos and other goodies. Accessing group functions other than the mailing list require that you have a Yahoo.com account.

Although we invite everyone to be active members of the community, the level of your involvement is, of course, your choice. Some folks just show up for the official TIEC gatherings, others we may see once and then they disappear into their town, and yet others are social maniacs and just can’t get enough. We are simply a community of friendly people that is available to you and hopefully will help make your time in Japan more memorable. The folks here are all great and it is a very welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
