Striking Fang Lander

A massive Conical vessel designed to carry the enormous conscript armies to targets marked for inclusion into the Chor'ii Totality. the Infantry are transported barracks style in 10 massive cargo bays, which provides little comfort, little more than a bunk for each conscript, packed in tightly with little elbow room. the passengers spend their entire trip crammed into this space, sometimes for months. under conventional conditions, this arrangement would not be viable. but the hibernation ability of the Chor'ii allows the passengers to be put into cold-sleep for the journey, and thawed out once at the destination. this greatly reduces the difficulty of transporting large numbers of passengers. the Striking Fang has only limited drives and fuel, as they are designed merely to move armies from orbit to ground, and then return after the campaign with their holds filled with the bounty of the newly held planet, although many Striking Claws are dismantled to provide building materials for their load of colonists.

Type: Troop lander

Class: Striking Fang

Crew: 150. 20 officers, 90 Loyalty Enforcers, 40 general crew.

Passengers: 5000 Conscripts. (one Legion), although when used as civilian transports over 10,000 Chor'ii can be carried, literally wall to wall.

MDC by location:

Main Body- 200

Docking Clamp (nose)- 50

Radiators (4, conformal)- 5 each

Troop Doors (4)- 50 each

Fusion Drive- 50

[1] Depleting the MDC of the main body will destroy the Vehicle.

[2] Destruction of the fusion drive will leave the ship with no propulsion or power.

[3] the Radiator panels are built into the hull and are used to eliminate waste heat. the panels are fragile, and easy to damage. they can be retracted when in combat or hazardous areas, but the ship will begin to overheat to dangerous levels after only 4 hours, and levels lethal to the crew after 8 hours.

Speeds:

In space- mach 1 (per melee) with a maximum velocity of 10,000 mach (1% of light)

In atmosphere- hover stationary up to mach 5, but depletes the fuel supply at a rapid rate. unless on a ballistic course to or from space, flight in atmosphere is limited to roughly 400 kmh of lateral movement, as the main engines must be fired downward to counter the pull of gravity.

on the ground- stationary.

Statistical Information:

Length: 75 meters

Width: 75 meters

Height: 150 meters

Mass: 10,000 tons

Cargo: if not used as passenger space, the vessel's large internal holds can carry roughly 20,000 tons of cargo.

Power system: Fusion drive, with 80,000 thrust points. when not under thrust, the Drive consumes one thrust point each week to provide electrical power. when docked to a Denmother Transport, the lander draws power from the transport and does not require it's own internal power system to be online.

Weaponry: none

Systems:

Radar-

maximum range of 3,000 km. -40% to detect small objects (fighters, missiles) beyond 1,000 km.

Infrared tracking and scanning- passive IR camera's used to detect enemy ships by their heat signature. has an effective range of 2 light minutes. -20% to detect small objects.

Radio- directional, maximum effective range of 2 light minutes.

Life Support- sufficient air and stored food for 1 year of operation.
