Novice of Storm Keep

*All tasks are expected to be recorded within the personal libram acquired at Petitioner rank.

1. Mentoring: It is vital to our varied Novices that they understand their field kit and their faith. To that end, the Novice is to find a mentor or be outfitted with one who can provide instruction as to the use of their specific kit in battle and the direction of the Darkness under Drakkara's reign. This mentorship arrangement should be noted to the Keep's leadership and recorded.

2. The Novice will be attired in a full complement of equipment and arms adequate for combat. The Novice's kit will be verified as adequate by their mentor.

3. Novices shall learn the points of entry and layout of Thorn and/or Misery Keep, and participate in the acquisition of these Keeps a total of twice with Storm or its allies.

4. Novices will gain a basic understanding of field combat and will chronicle a foray, led by a Dark Knight.  The Novice will write two field reports describing the engagement in which they participated. Reference must be paid to the combatants, the successes and losses, and where improvements could be made.

5. Of the tasks of meritorious conduct, the Novice will fulfill at least one of them. 

6. The Novice will demonstrate an understanding of where the Halls of the other clans lie.

7. The Novice will demonstrate an understanding of all methods of entry into Storm Keep.

8. The Novice will demonstrate an understanding of two 'gate posts' on each continent useful in escaping battle.

9. The Novice shall seek a religious leader of our dark Order - or one of the unholy Sanctum, and will learn the purpose of our Order (its history, its Purpose, the Prophecy, and what is expected of a servant of our Lady). Following this discussion, the Supplicant will write a missive to Storm explaining how they personally are called to serve the Vision of Darkness.

10. Upon completion of these trials, the Novice will study the organization of Storm Keep. An understanding of the purpose of each Sect should be gained. The Novice should then identify a Sect they feel best suited to and speak with the Council or Sect Leader.

An interview with the leadership of the sect will take place, and the goals of the sect will be outlined in addition to how the chosen Sect complements the others. In the absence of the chosen Sect's leadership, any member of the Council may stand in as replacement.

The requirements for progression toward the rank of Dark Knight vary by Sect with the exception of shared merit tasks.
