On Mankind

by Lanival Illithi

Let us never take for granted the gods' chief gift to us: that is, our

humanity. For truly, we are Algoron's greatest mortal race. And while the

fires of our extience burn but briefly, they burn brightest of all. Where

elven longevity preaches patience, we are driven to action and heroism.

Though their lifespans were but a fraction of some counterparts, are the

legends of mankind not still the world's greatest? And see, too, how we

adapt to the necessities of our environment. We have colonized all regions

and all professions, and we are the dominant force on this plane.

Let none be surprised, then, that this inherent greatness spurred our divine

lord to grant the wisdom and clairvoyance of the Prophecy unto us, and us

alone. And let none be surprised, then, that mankind alone shall rule His

divine kingdom made real upon Algoron. The fate of the heavens and hell, of

the moons and the stars, of the sun and the earth, these all lie with us,

and none other. So I bid you give thanks, comrades, for our finest

blessing, one which makes us masters of fate itself.

I am Human, and for this, I am grateful.
