Important Notice - January 26, 2017

Post date: Jan 26, 2017 5:23:46 PM

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

The staff of SRHS would like to thank you for your support, and understanding, with all the changes that took place during Work to Rule. With a new semester just around the corner, we feel it is important to share the following reminders with you:

  • Parents are asked to use the drop off loop when dropping students off for school. The staff parking lot is a busy spot in the mornings, and should not be used for drop off purposes. This has become a safety concern for staff who are parking or walking to enter the school.

  • Student drop off should be 7:30 am or later, as this is the time our front doors unlock each day. First class begins at 7:55 am.

  • The PD day, originally scheduled for January 30, has been changed to Tuesday, January 31. No students will be in attendance on the 31st.

  • As of Monday, January 30 (2 pm), SRHS basketball teams will be permitted to practice and play exhibition games. No league play will begin until further direction from the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation. As we get updates on athletics, the information will be shared with our coaches, who will then share with their team members.

  • The first day for Semester Two will be Wednesday, February 1. Our senior high students will begin their new semestered courses, 9E will now have Social Studies (Science has ended), and students in jr. high will change their elective courses.

  • Students in Grade 11 or 12, who require transcripts, should request them from Mrs. Rankin by February 7.

  • Report Cards will be sent home with students on Friday, February 10.

  • A February calendar will be posted on our website near the end of January.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Tara Goulden, Principal
