Students/Parents/Guardians:

As you can imagine, we have been working diligently on our plans for re-opening SRHS on September 8th. Above all else, we are very excited that we will all get to be together again on the 8th....it's hard to believe that it has almost been 6 months since students and staff have graced the halls of Shelburne High together!

While not all pieces have been finalized, I am in a position to share some of the key changes you will see on the 8th. Along with directional arrows we are all used to seeing everywhere, there will be increased signage encouraging proper hand-washing/sanitizing and mask-wearing...two key pieces to our being able to remain open. As we've stated previously, this is an easy area that you could be practicing at home and if you need a mask or would like one to practice wearing, please contact the school. A reminder that as per Public Health Protocols, masks are expected to be worn any time that social distancing is not possible.

A very big change that you will see is around what our breaks and lunches will look like this year. In an effort to cohort our students as much as possible we will be staggering our breaks. This means grades 7-8 will share one schedule and grades 9-12 will share another. Here is what the schedule looks like:

I'm sure you are wondering about lunch- the cafeteria will be open. Students will be eating with their cohort in the commons, and students are still able to leave SRHS at lunch if they want to go home or to a local establishment at lunchtime.

As our plan continues to develop and come together, I will continue to provide updates. Ensuring we have a successful re-opening will take patience and cooperation. We all will play a part in keeping each other safe but I know we are up to the challenge!

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
