‘Talk a Deux’ By Professors

Pedro Dias and Álvaro Sequeira Pinto

as a Guided Introduction to a Re-Visit of the ‘500 Y’ Art Legacy Exhibition

2nd November 2011, 9:00

The exhibion, displaying four small sculptures in ivory and a remarkable gilded and black lacquer chest from the “Távora Sequeira Pinto Collection”, Oporto, Portugal, jointly with related Art objects from the permanent collection of the National Museum, at the Sivamokkhabhiman Building, National Museum, Bangkok, was inaugurated on the 17th July.

Both the author of the introductory text in the catalogue, Professor Pedro Dias, an eminent authority in the studies of Portuguese historical presence in South East Asia, and the famed collector of Portuguese-Asian Art, Professor Álvaro Sequeira Pinto, who graciously ceded the Portuguese objects on display, have kindly accepted to provide us further food for thought on the remarkable cultural interchange represented by the “dialogue” between the objects on display.

The talk will take place at the Auditorium of the National Museum, Na Phrathat Rd,

Phra Nakorn District, Bangkok 10200
