Popcorn Sale

2016 Popcorn Program

Benefits to Your Scout and Family:

  • Teaches Scouts the value & process of setting and working toward goals

  • Gives Scouts a strong sense of accomplishment through recognition

  • Enhances communication, leadership skills and confidence in your Scout

  • Scouts can earn valuable rewards including gift cards and prizes

  • Scouts are "Paying their own way"

Sales Goals:

Our Pack has a sales goal of $7000.00.

Pack 777 uses the Fall popcorn sale as our primary fund raising event. Historically, we have been successful enough with our popcorn sales that the pack is able to cover the boys expenses such as annual registration as well as the activity and event expenses.

Below are the goals you and your Scout should strive for...

  • $250.00 per Scout - Tiger Cubs

  • $300.00 per Scout - Wolf Cubs

  • $350.00 per Scout - Bear Cubs

  • $450.00 per Scout - Webelos & Arrow of Light

If you meet the above goal you will get to throw a pie in your Den Leader's face!

If you exceed the above goal by $200 or more, you will get to throw a 2nd pie in your Cubmaster's face!

There are also some stretch goals you can try for. If you sell:

  • $650.00 -- Bonus pin!

  • $700.00 -- Star Wars Millennium Falcon model

  • $2500.00 -- Earn a Scholarship!

Ways to Sell:

Take Orders

  • The Scout with his Akela goes door to door with a Take Order Form. Take Order Forms will provided during the Popcorn Kickoff, den meeting or pack event.

  • The customer writes his/her order on the Take Order Form and the Scout collects the money. Make all checks payable to Pack 777

  • Turn in all money at next Den or Pack meeting.

  • The Scout processes the order and delivers the Popcorn to the Customer in a few weeks.

Selling at Work

  • Mom and/or Dad take an order form to their work.

  • Fellow co-workers write their order on the order form and give money to Dad and/or Mom.

  • Turn in all money at next Den or Pack meeting.

  • Mom and/or Dad deliver product in a few weeks.

Selling via email

  • You can sell to "faraway" friends or family

    • For more details on on-line accounts, contact Popcorn Kernel, Karl Schlegel.

Fundraising Uses:

Our fundraising effort helps to make Scouting a great experience for our sons, siblings and parents. Here is a just a small sampling of the recent activities supported by your fund raising efforts and participation:

    • Cub Scout registration fees and insurance

    • Boys Life subscription

    • Birdhouse kits and construction

    • Tool box kits and construction

    • Pack Snow shoe hike at North Branch Nature Center

    • Pinewood derby kits, trophies, and track

    • Family Camping trip at Lake Elmore State Park

    • Supplies and training for Den and Pack Leaders

    • Scout patches, badges and recognition awards

Having a successful sale will allow the pack to reduce dues for next year as well as reducing event costs.

Suggestions and information:

  • Please collect the money when you get the order. This will help the Pack be sure checks will clear and that we can pay for the popcorn when we pick it up. Collecting the money ahead of time also is easier for you since you can just drop off the popcorn since its already paid for.

  • Be sure to get the customer’s phone number and that you can read all of the information BEFORE you leave the house.

  • If you drop off the popcorn, you can call/leave a message for the customer letting them know where you left the popcorn.

  • Use one mark for cash payments and another for checks. This can help when you’re making sure you’ve got all of the $$.

  • Turn in the money to the Pack at the next meeting.

  • MAKE ALL CHECKS PAYABLE TO PACK 777
