Outstanding German Educator

Each spring the Northern Illinois Chapter of the AATG honors a member as Outstanding German Educator.  The awardee is someone who has served the chapter and the profession with excellence for several years.  The award will be presented at the NOIL AATG awards ceremony on April 28, 2024.  Currently the Testing & Awards Committee invites nominations for this award.

Letters of nomination should identify the nominee, their educational affiliation and years of service and should describe in two or three paragraphs the nominee’s service and outstanding accomplishments. In addition, we ask that nominations include information about the colleague making the nomination and how they have witnessed the nominee’s service.  Please also include contact information for the nominee.

NOIL AATG Collegiate Award of Excellence

Each year our chapter offers the NOIL AATG Collegiate Award of Excellence. Each college/university may nominate ONE student to receive this award from our chapter. Instructors should submit the name of the student along with a paragraph detailing why the student should be so honored. These students will be honored at the NOIL AATG Awards Ceremony on April 28, 2024, and will also be recognized in our newsletter.

Candidates should be stellar in all possible ways. They have shown leadership, academic excellence and a drive to promote the German language and culture. They demonstrate their interest and skills in classes, at events, at competitions and even in travel.
