Notes:

The first report for Maine has not been reviewed. It is an old account of a specimen (so far not located) from the Little River marshes, a former inlet south of Pine Point, Scarborough. According to the published account, this bird was collected 13 August 1886 by Joseph L. Goodale of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and subsequently said to have been examined by William Brewster.
