A Brand new LCR HP4263B

HP4263B with Option 1

This is a lovely devices in good conditions, plus with transformer testing option 1. I always wang  LCR with 100Khz work frequency for evaluation capacitor and inductor.

To be more convenient, i bought a combo adapters from China version eBay, goo-Fish. all three of them is made by TH(Tonghui ), a China LRC vendor.

Transformer Adapter

Brand: TH, transformer  adapter seems a money maker, so damp simple.

100kh LCR adapter

Brand: TH. 100khz Adapter use a compact design and only 0.1pF parasitic. 

1khz LCR adapter

Brand: TH. 1khz adpator introduce more 


We don't fix instead, but learning

Operation theory

The DUT's Voltage and current been sample and processed then send into CPU, that's mean all magic happened inside CPU.

Analog beat by digital in many ways i dislike. but I can't afford the space consuming by bulking analog vector detector machines. 

It's time move to Digital world.

What's inside Black Box of CPU

IF we sample only the positive half cylcle, we will get a average DC output, this DC output corresponding to the Voltage's phase according to gate signal which is in sample frequency as consideration as zero phase signal.

This action is actually a Mixer, and corresponding to multiply mathematically. Assume: 

V=Vo*Sin(ωt+α) , 

while multiply by 1*sin(ωt), we get output as following equation, which is only determined by phase of  V.

sample the voltage with "Q"

IF we sample agin, but with a gating signal shift 90 degree, we get another V2, correspoding also to the phase. 

with sin, and cos, we could easily get,  and that's all we want to know:

but Sadly, I did not know if the HP4263 work in this way.  but it seem hardly use FFT do the vector stuff, seems it's CPU is slow enough.
