Western Combine

Comprised of an alliance between the former United States, Canada and Britain, the Western Combine is one of two major powers in the 23rd Century.

The Combine controls a large number of star systems spanning from Essex to New Syrtis, all the way to New Michigan. The Western Combine also possesses Mars, which is used as a heavy manufacturing base.

MA2 M1 Marine Armor: A modified version of the BA2 Mark 3 suit used by Marine forces, with retractible polymer floatation/swimming systems to allow rapid movement through bodies of water. Provides adequate protection against small-arms fire.

Armor Value 4

MOVE: 6" on land or 8" in water.

GA1 M2 Engineering Harness: A highly reinforced servo-assisted suit, specialized for engineering work such as clearing/placing explosives and heavy lifting.

Armor Value 5

OVERVIEW: Originally constructed in 2190 during the Second Solar War, the M25 Grant GEV became the standard insertion vehicle and battle taxi of the American contingent of the Western Combine, used by planetary defense garrisons. Although a solid transport with respectable protection the Grant was not without its flaws. The new 30mm binary-propellant L55 autocannon was prone to jamming in the feed mechanism, and if the remote turret was hit by anything heavier than a conventional support weapon the rotation collar had a tendency to lock up, or the optics would be jarred out of alignment.

The release of the M25A1 in 2195 saw both the turret and feed mechanism redesigned and both were working reliably, but it wasn't until the improvements in the '98 A2 refit that the otherwise solid Grant really started to shine.

CAPABILITIES: The M25A2 Grant can carry a squad of infantry, including gear. The improved L55A3 main gun can be used in both suppression and light anti-armor roles, while the M44 anti-personnel gun provides point defense against infantry.

The advanced Chobham armor plating provides excellent, equalized protection against small-arms; it provides moderate protection against autocannons and light anti-armor weapons such as IAVRs and poor defense against heavier weapons such as the KR8 120mm cannon used by Eurasian armor units.
