Mechforce

In the latter days of the Amiga phenomenon, Ralph H. Reed* created a BATTLETECH-inspired computer game that broke the gameplay down into a comprehensive, real-time simulation via phase-based decision-making.

This is an attempt to adapt that style of play to the tabletop, in hopes of providing a better breeding ground for tactical thinking than that provided by the official BATTLETECH rules, because only approximately four different tactical styles actually work consistently in FASA's system.

* It is not known if Ralph was working for FASA or not during the development of MechForce, but roughly around the time of MechForce Beta (titled “Mech Combat”), all work on the project ceased completely.
