3 - Adjectives

Once again, let’s go back to our classroom. The students don’t all look the same, do they? We need words to describe them.

Some might be tall, and others short, one plump, another skinny.

They might look happy or sad, uncomfortable or bored.

These words describe nouns. They are called ADJECTIVES. They can be single words (pretty) or combinations (good-looking).

In the text about CLIL we find these adjectives:

foreign, new and long

Look at these adjectives from the text:

In this way, CLIL prepares young students for the modern world, where people work in project teams, use other languages to talk to various colleagues and communicate with people in different countries (7).

You can also make adjectives from country names, eg German, English, Slovenian.
