00 - Start & Config

INITIAL CONSIDERATIONS

App starts with an standard schema designed to accommodate it in a low res display device... and always in Portrait mode

Also if you have a tablet, you will see this screen.

Number of elements that you can adjust in each tab will depend of your device, resolution & size that you prefer for faders and buttons.

At this point:

If you encounter problems on start... try to "Clear data" on Android Settings > Applications > Manage Application... and Restart App

Initial configuration will be loaded and all data will be cleared (except "fixtures_libs" folder and its content) * see below.

In fact, this method is a secure method to start app from zero if something happens during periodic updates or if something corrupt settings files.

At moment, we only need to focus our attention on DISPLAY Settings in order to set the visual aspect of the app.

Let's go with some examples (but you can setup as you want):

For an HTC Desire... (screen 480x800 pixels)

*images from R07

For this example, fader multiplier is set to 1.35, no full screen mode and 12/12/4/60 schema used

LG G2 (screen 1080x1920 pixels)

For this example, fader multiplier at 1.5, full screen mode and 12/12/4/30 schema

Tablet Acer A210 (screen 1280x800)

And the last one , fader at 1.6, full screen mode, Tablet mode enabled and 16/12/3/30 schema

SETTINGS:

NET

Art-net Broadcast/unicast to::

Where you can set Broadcast address (that can be a Broadcast address or a Single IP of your Art-net Network or Art-net Device)

sACN

Leave blank by default or set the single IP of your ACN device

Output

You can switch ON/OFF the outputs that you need (less activated outputs means better performance).

Also choice if you want to use Art-net or sACN for every output and set the direction. (by default app uses the first 4 directions for both protocols)

At this point:

Note that Broadcasting is not always enabled on all Routers or Access Point... if this is the case, you must change your Router settings or simply unicast to your Art-net Node.

Also, for sACN , some networks are unable to work in a multi-casting environment.

Note that Art-Net Address is changed to Art-net 3 notation, so

now, first field is NET, and second one is SUBNET/Universe

for example:

If you had Subnet=1 and Universe=1 in R07 , now in R07, you must set NET=0 and Subnet/Universe=17.

So the way is multiply previous SUBNET by 16 and add universe

DISPLAY

All Changes in this part, will needs to restart

Channels (NOT scrollables)

Set elements that your device can accommodate in the screen.

Subs/Cuelist/Playbacks (Scrollables)

Set elements that you need (MAX 99 for each... but be prudent, and set it conform your hardware, (specially with cuelists)

Screen always ON

Display will be always ON and UNLOCK screen never be activated

Full Screen

To hide top bar on phones and some tablets

Tablet Mode

Landscape mode optimized for tablets.

Ch Zoom

To expand size of channels on touch it

Fader size multiplier

Multiplier for size of buttons and faders to accommodate them at your fingers...

This value is a positive float value normally between 0.8 to 1.9 but use it at your own way

PERFORMANCE

Continuous Broadcast

Disabled by default to save battery... you must activate it if you don't want to lose single packets due to inherent UDP transfer protocol associated to Artnet / sACN or because your node need it.

Limit dmx output

Set it only if you need to limit dmx packet size.

Certain dimmers run erratic if you don't limit dmx packet size... also you will win better response on some old phones/tablets.

this set will be applied to all universes

Frames/sec

Change at your own... default is 40fps

More fps = more accurate dmx response = better phone/tablet needed

Less fps = less accurate dmx response = less powerful phone/tablet needed

OTHER

NumPAD RPN Mode

Check (default) to use Reverse Polish Notation

Uncheck if you prefer to use Standard notation.

Example to set channel 2 at 80%

RPN: 2 CH 80 (LVL)

STD: CH 2 (LVL) 80 ENTER

also in STD you can use : 2 (LVL) 80 ENTER (whithout CH)

Channels >> Subs

When Check, App uses values captured via First Universe when DMX IN is enabled (touch&hold icon app) from channel 1 to number of submasters displayed (Settings>Display>Subs) to control level of submasters
