There are two parts to the story of Aegyptvs.

The first part involves a group of players coming from scattered backgrounds and fighting against Apophis, the agent of Seth sent to gather the materials to make the Spear of Destiny, and with it kill Osiris the God.

The second part is set 200 years later. Having stopped Apophis the descendents of the heroes are again confronted by the demi-god. This time however he is acting for himself, seeking to re-forge the Spear and with it slay a god so he may ascend to divinity.

In the first scenario at least one of your players should be a noble or rich, which then allows the rest of the players to be servants or hirelings. If not then just use an NPC noble or wealthy merchant as the common bond that groups your players together.

At this point a key player has to be created – the sister. The sister will be the focus of a lot of adventures early on and must there for have some bond to one or more of the players. Get a volunteer or simply make it the Nobles sister if you like, but the players will need to want to rescue her.

The party is off for a summer holiday at the Nobles country estate in the delta, just outside Naukratis. They should begin in Memphis to allow them to catch up with all the latest news and do some last minute shopping in the largest city in Aegypt. The Noble has hired a river barge to take his larger possessions up ahead of time, along with his and any other family, including the sister. The Noble himself and the players will follow in a smaller barge in a weeks time.

The Noble and players will travel to the delta city of Naukratis (a journey of around 100km taking 3 leisurely days ) and thence to the summer estate a further days travel past. On the journey downriver you can probably have them attacked by a bunch of Sobek bandits. These are crocodile men followers of the god Sobek, they have a humanoid body but a crocodiles head and are aquatic in nature (See Water Domain). They are considered savages by most Aegyptians.

The barge will pull up to a small pier along the river side.
