Some of the more intrepid 'A' riders are pictured in Maldon, part way through Tuesdays 'ride to the sea'. Maldon is something of a regular destination for these rides and, as in previous years, it didn't let us down. There was an interesting start to the ride when ace navigator Ant took everyone the wrong way for half a mile, but there's nothing wrong with a little warm up! This year there was a tentative plan to cycle over the causeway to Osea island which sits in the estuary near Maldon. A quick look at the muddy and slimey causeway put the sensible riders off. The silly ones, led of course by Kev, gave it a try. Kev is still cleaning his new bike! A good lunch at the Queens Head in Maldon was followed by a pleasant ride back to Tiptree and the jam factory for the obligatory cream teas all round. No punctures and no one lost at sea. A good day all round.
