2016-9-8 Extraordinary scene on the way to The Bull at Gosmore - Half million pound combine harvester on fire

Geoff Perry led an excellent Inter ride to the Bull at Gosmore. What an enjoyable ride except for this: somewhere near Breachwood Green, in the middle of a burning wheat field, stood a brand new combine harvester on fire. We moved on at a safe distance quietened by the dreadful waste. Later we heard a loud explosion - probably fuel tanks exploding. Geoff is an occasional rider with St Albans section, a North Herts section ride leader and a fellow Majorca rider - many thanks Geoff for leading such a fine ride through the lanes.
