2017-2-14 Puncture practice on the Inter Ride

Roger Blassberg mends a puncture "advised" by Colin Burns and Steve Brazier on Carol Brazier's lovely Inter Ride to St Pauls Walden. Hertfordshire's flints and regular hedge cutting means we need special puncture resistant tyres for our rides. It is always a lively debate as to which tyres are the best. Personally I ride on Durano Plus have tried Gatorskins which many riders like. In any case whatever comes with a new bike is unlikely to suit Hertfordshire road conditions. Kevan Harrop swears by Marathon Plus tyres and I have yet to see him puncture on them but others say they are heavy and have indifferent grip. A good subject for Signpost I think Tony Green
