DECEMBER Edition

in classes

Mrs. Jackson's FACS classes have been baking and getting into the holiday spirit! They've made all sorts of things including rock candy and cookies. Mrs. Huckelbery's ELA students have been writing a script for their very own video productions! Students were teamed up, then had to develop characters and write the script for each character. Students were given the opportunity to perform their script in front of the green screen! Mrs. Noblin's Science classes have been working on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) projects like building catapults! Mrs. McLain's technology classes made holiday cards using Google Drawing. Students created wreaths, customized font, and personalized their message by inserting a video. Students saved these Google Drawings as pdfs and sent them in an email to staff members, friends, and family as holiday cards!

5/6th Meet the players

The 5th and 6th grade boys and girls basketball teams, along with the cheerleaders, kicked off the 2021-2022 season this month! There were some great scrimmages showing the community what to look forward to this season.

  • Why can’t basketball players go on vacation?

  • They aren’t allowed to travel.

Watch for symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

Help Stop the Spread

Help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like COVID-19, by avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering cough and sneeze; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; and washing your hands with soap and water. If you are sick, you can prevent spreading sickness by staying home and taking care of yourself.

How to Wear a Cloth Face Covering

Cloth face coverings should—

  • fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face

  • be secured with ties or ear loops

  • allow for breathing without restriction

  • be able to be laundered and machine dried
