Classroom Culture & Expectations

In a remote learning environment, building a culture and setting clear expectations for students and families is essential. In Scarsdale, our learning environment always extends beyond the four walls of our classroom. During remote learning, this is especially true. Teachers work diligently to build a positive yet rigorous classroom culture. This is done by providing feedback in various modalities, creating clear structures , and engaging students in joyful learning in a variety of sizes and structures. Due to the unique nature of eLearning, Scarsdale teachers must also attend to the home learning environment. This includes, but is not limited to: the student's access to technology, parental involvement, the child's wellness , the physical environment. As we hold our students to the highest expectations, the key is to develop a coherent vision with the students.
