Renaissance STAR Reading

Standardized Test for the Assessment of Reading (STAR) is a computer-adaptive assessment given three times per year. Scarsdale elementary teachers use it as a universal screener to help identify students who may benefit from early intervention services. STAR measures students’ reading comprehension, monitors achievement and growth, and tracks understanding of skills.

STAR assessments may also be given to students more frequently when they are used as a progress monitoring tool to support teachers in determining needs, targeting skills and goal evaluation in the RTI process.
