The main idea goal behind our birdhouses was to create an interactive structure, easily accessible for anyone no matter the time of year. Therefore, at least one side on each birdhouse will be clear, so that the residents of Levis House can watch from the comfort of their living space. Above is the outline, compiled in Adobe Illustrator, used to cut the panels using Foxcroft's laser cutter. The sides, cut from a large, 1/4 inch thick acrylic panel, use the following measurements:

Length 1: bottom = 7 1/4 in

Height = 10 in

Height 2 = 9 in

Length 2: top = Cut at a 30 degree angle, 7 1/4 in

Materials: Plexiglass, w=1/4 in

To cut using the laser cutter, the lines must be connected and the weight of the lines should be set to .02 pt, or else the pieces will cut incorrectly. In addition, there was trial and error when we attempted to secure the side panel with the nail gun, so we had to transition to cutting the holes for drilling, using the laser cutter.
